FET Protocol

This past Thursday we met with our doctor to discuss our Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET). We chatted for a bit and she told us that my last cycle was perfect.... expect that we didn't get a baby out of it. She told us that we have good embryos left and is hopeful that we will be successful.

Initially the doctor told me to call when I get my period next. My cycles are so irregular that I knew that I'd be a disaster if I just had to wait for it and possibly be waiting for 40+ days. Thankfully she said that she will put me on birth control pills so we can plan everything better.

FET Protocol:
  • Take BCP for 3 weeks, last pill will be 7/3
  • Call with Cycle Day 1 (approximately 7/6)
  • U/S and labwork on Cycle Day 2
  • If everything looks OK, start estrogen
  • U/S after about 12 days of estrogen to check lining (approximately 7/21)
  • If the lining is 8mm or above, start progesterone + doxy
  • If the lining is less than 8mm, continue estrogen and recheck U/S in a few days
  • Transfer 6 days after starting progesterone (approximately 7/27)
  • Pregnancy test 10 days after transfer (approximately 8/6)
We are very excited about this cycle and right now the only hard part is waiting! I made a "summer bucket list" to help us pass the time and have some fun this summer.
