Um, hello.
You should probably sit down and get ready for some real talk.
Egg retrieval is no joke. The day of the retrieval I was fine, still sore and a little crampy but I had expected that. I went to work the next day and holy bananas I was bloated. Whenever I got up to walk anywhere I waddled and moved at a slow pace. I made it through the day and hoped I'd be feeling better by the next day.
Thursday came and I was still very bloated and felt extremely uncomfortable. I had pressure under my ribs and felt very full. My stomach was slightly distended. I called the clinic and they asked me if I was having any trouble breathing (no) and if I had gained weight (not sure). They told me to call if it got any worse and to drink a lot of Gatorade and eat a lot of salty foods.
I had made an acupuncture appointment for that night and I almost cancelled it because I felt so awful. I'm so glad that I went because I really think that it helped me turn a corner. After my session I felt like I had to go to the bathroom and ended urinating for what felt like 2 minutes.
That night I went to the bathroom numerous times and by Friday morning I was feeling less bloated. I weighed myself like the clinic had suggested and was so relieved to see that I was the same exact weight I was the morning of the retrieval. I followed instructions and drank an enormous amount of Gatorade and ate the saltiest things that I could fine.
Today is Saturday and I'm feeling much better, but still not 100%. I am hoping that I will feel even better tomorrow because it's a BIG day.
So, I don't mean to freak you out at all. I actually really don't like reading posts when women scare the crap out of you and complain about how ______________ (fill in the blank) was the WORST THING EVER. I don't like alarmists. I'm just letting you know that you can expect some bloating for a few days and that if you can take off the following day, do it. Also, make sure you keep your doctor up to date with how you are feeling and call if you have any questions at all.
End rant.
